School Feeding Program in Libmanan.
One of our day trips brought us to this small school near Libmanan about 45 minutes from Naga City. These kids have benefited before from BSF and were looking forward to our arrival. A hot school meal prepared by our volunteers made for a joyful ocassion for many of these children, some of whom had this as their only meal for the day!
1 John 3:17-18: But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, lett us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
Barangay (Neighbor) Program
We reach out to local Barangay officials including local police departments to sponsor meal times for some of the local children. These children are brought in by the police from various parts of the area so they can receive a well nourished meal. As is so often the case, these kids enjoy the volunteers (many who are policemen) who cook and serve these poor souls. And they provide much needed protection to our volunteers from others who may wish to cause trouble.
Another School on another wonderful day!
Another day and another school in the area. Our volunteers showed up with plenty to serve and eat for these wonderful kids. We also provide school supplies to both the kids and the schools when supplies are available to us.
Just watching these kids wait and get served and realizing they can come back for seconds if they want, is a God blessed event. Thank God for all who serve Him here in the Philippines and across many mission fields in the world.
So the servants went out into the streets and gathered everyone they could find, both evil and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Yes, go out, invite those in need, for all are worthy in the eyes of our Lord. Reaching those who see little hope or change in their lives is part of our mission. But giving hope not in themselves, but in the one who matters. Who is that? Our savior, Jesus Christ, whom the bible bares witness:
1 John 3:2
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”
